Anne Martin (1969) studied composition with Claude Ledoux at the Royal Conservatory of Mons after having studied harmony, counterpoint, fugue, and been introduced to electroacoustic composition.
Concurrently, she pursued studies in philosophy at the ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles), where she wrote a thesis on the intimate consciousness of time, particularly in a musical context, influenced by Husserl and other phenomenologists. However, her true passion for teaching stems from her commitment to justice and her fight against the abuse of power, as an active member of the “White Movement.”
Currently, she teaches philosophy at the secondary level, having previously taught music history and analysis.
Her compositional work, rich in literary and philosophical references, is expressed through numerous pieces for solo instruments or small chamber ensembles.
